Galerie Beres |
The Galerie Berès on the Rive Gauche facing the southwest wing of the Louvre, was founded by Huguette Berès in 1952 and is now run by her daughter Anisabelle Berès. From the beginning, the gallery has focused on the graphic arts from the Far East and the avant-garde painting of the 19th and early 20th century in France, from the impressionists and post-impressionists to the modern art. Since 1995, it has turned towards the avant-garde trends of the 20th century, as well as the cubist movement. The last shows, 'Henri Laurens' in 2004, 'Au temps des Cubistes' in 2006 and 'Serge Férat' in 2010, turned out to be immense successes. The Galerie Berès is a member of the Syndicat National des Antiquaires and participates regularly in the TEFAF in Maastricht and in the Biennale des Antiquaires in Paris.
